Kooteni Falls

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. - John Muir

You might be wondering why I have John Muir quotes at the beginning of each blog. Well, even if you weren't, I'll explain. Before we left for our trip, we watched a documentary on the National Parks by Ken Burns. John Muir along with President Theodor Roosevelt had a lot to do with helping to create our National Park system. In that documentary, we noticed how his words so perfectly described how we feel about nature. He was an odd fellow, but really appreciated the world that God created. Our world is amazing and for us, seeing how big and amazing it is, is a window into how big and amazing our God is. Too big and amazing for our comprehension.

Libby was about 45 minutes from the cabin and they had a nice little waterfall hike. Waterfall's are one of my favorite things to look at in nature. Actually, anytime water is around, the scenery is so much more pretty. This area was very lush. Montana doesn't get a ton of precipitation, so a lot of it is dry this time of year.

This bridge was really cool! it went over some train tracks.

The kids are always way ahead on the trail.

Ah-Oh! Which way should we go? The bridge or the falls?

Bridge it is!

There are so many bridges in Montana. Can you tell, I love bridges?

Now this is a true swinging bridge that I was hoping the suspension bridge was going to be in Yellowstone.

Craig waited till everyone was off the bridge to cross. Cambria didn't read the sign so as he was crossing, she was jumping on the other side shaking him the whole way across.

This one was my favorite of the bridges. I could not even imagine building this bridge. That'd be a bit hairy!

On the other side there was access to this huge rushing river. A nice spot to cool down. Cole likes to get his head wet in the water.

Whoops! A wave came a splashed more then his head.

Now to the falls.

It wasn't a super tall falls, but water was rushing from everywhere.

And back to the lake.
