Master Shower Reveal

I was going to start by saying, "Probably the worst room in the house was the master bath." but then I thought about it and I don't know if I can pick a worst room. This one was pretty bad, but, so was the kids bath, the kids rooms, the bottom floor... Yep, they were all gross.

To give you an idea of the master shower/toilet area, we opened the door 1/2 way for it to hit the shower door. Then you would have to squeeze into the toilet to close the door and finally you could look at this tiny motorhome size shower my husband probably couldn't fit in.

See that (below) open door, 2 more inches and it hit that (above).

Yucky pealing paint and musty smell.

I think this picture was on a good day. Cleaner then I saw it the first time.

You may think this picture doesn't relate to the bathroom, but just you wait and see. I didn't like how the upstairs hall ways was just door after door after door. It was blah!

Bye, bye closet, hello bigger shower! Since we had a closet where the heater used to be before it was moved into the attic, I didn't want this closet too. And, here this is proof that I did work too. The sledge hammering was fun as things were flying all over the place, but once you get to a certain point that it gets hard, I hand it over to the guy with the big muscles.

Yep, that's him, he finishes the job off quite nicely.

Then this part gets handed off to his dad. Even inside our walls is nice now. Nobody can see it, but I know the drains are the diameter they are supposed to be and not 1/2 an inch like the old ones.

Once Dr. C finished the nice new shower frame, we had it hot mopped then he painted this water proof red stuff and handed the job over once again to his dad.

Not an easy task! This tile took a long time. I don't even remember how long it took and I don't really want to remember. All I know is I have this amazing natural shower that I get to use every morning. I love the dimmer for middle of the night showers when I get called to a birth. All the way dim is just enough light for me to see and not blinding.

Closet becomes shower and now the door opens completely to the wall.

New toilet side and room to dry off and put lotion on before walking out onto the hard wood.

Here is the top of the stairs before and after also. This wall gave us such heartache! We spent so much time mudding, sanding, mudding, sanding, taking out the drywall, putting in new for the 2nd time, mudding, sanding, mudding, sanding, etc. Then we realized that it was build 2 inches further out on the left of the door then the rest of the hall. That's why we couldn't get it completely flat! Looks not bad though.

As you can see there is still work to be done. Floors are finished upstairs, but downstairs, they are just sitting in boxes still. Hopefully we can start next week on that.

I'm getting better about blogging, so stay tuned for more next week. (Hopefully!)
